Guidelines for Authors

The South Asian Journal of Arts, Humanities and Society invites original and high-quality research papers, review articles, and theoretical discussions within the disciplines of arts, humanities, and society. To maintain academic rigor and ensure integrity, all submissions must adhere strictly to the following author guidelines:

  1. Submission Format
  • Manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Submissions must comply with the APA (American Psychological Association) Sixth Edition citation and referencing style.
  • Authors should ensure clarity, coherence, and academic tone throughout their manuscripts.
  1. Originality and Exclusivity
  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished, and must not be under consideration elsewhere.
  • All authors must declare the authenticity of their submission and confirm it is free of plagiarism. Submissions with more than 19% similarity (as per HEC policy) may be rejected or returned for revision.
  1. Scope and Relevance
  • Submitted articles must align with the aims and scope of the journal, which focuses on interdisciplinary scholarship in arts, humanities, and social sciences.
  • Articles outside the journal’s thematic scope may be desk rejected.
  1. Authorship Information
  • Full names, institutional affiliations, and contact details of all authors must be clearly provided.
  • The corresponding author should be identified and will be responsible for communication with the editorial office.
  1. Word Limit
  • Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words, including references, tables, and appendices.
  • Authors requesting exceptions must include a cover letter justifying the need for a longer manuscript.
  1. Abstract and Keywords
  • An abstract of no more than 250 words must be included at the beginning of the manuscript.
  • The abstract should concisely summarize the research objectives, methodology, findings, and implications.
  • The abstract must be followed by a minimum of five keywords that reflect the core themes of the article.
  1. Submission Process
  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the Open Journal System (OJS) at Submissions | South Asian Journal of Arts, Humanities and Society.
  • Ensure that all sections of the OJS form are accurately completed, including author details and declarations.
